We now run a cycle group every Monday and Saturday, generally between April and October but subject to weather, in one of 4 different categories:

The Monday rides fall into one of the first 3 levels, rotating week by week.

Level 1 – Led by Mike Wood, this group is for people who haven’t cycled for some time and are unsure of how they will get on or who just prefer to cycle shorter distances. The group meets at 11am at Stanwick Lakes bike hire shed and cycle either to Rushden Lakes or Woodford Mill ... stopping for coffee and cake...approximately 30 minutes each way.

Level 2 – Led by Lynn Gale and Bob Eames, this group is for people who want to cycle a bit further. The group meets at Stanwick Lake bike hire shed at 10.45am for an 11.00am start, then cycles to Islip.. approximately 50 minutes each way... stopping for lunch.

Level 3 - Led by Lynn Gale and Bob Eames. This group is for people who are happy to load their bikes on the car and meet at various locations... approximately 50 minutes each way .. stopping for either lunch or coffee and cake. The destinations are reasonably local and the rides not too strenuous but sometimes it is necessary to ride on quiet country roads. The pace is easy and we always stay together, riding a distance of between 15 - 25 miles. (reduced rides in the winter).

The Saturday morning rides are in Level 4 and involve going to different places with rides of approximately 2-3 hours covering 30-35 miles.

Details of all rides are sent by email the week leading up to the ride. We advise all cyclists to wear cycle helmets.

Besides the cycling we also run Social Events every 6 to 8 weeks. In the past these have included meals out, BBQ, skittles and pizza night, quiz night, karting and music events at the local bowls club.
