Country Park Walks

The Walks are Suitable for Members who want to walk at a slightly slower pace to enjoy the scenery. Mostly the walks are about 2.0-2.5 miles starting at 10.30am and finishing about 12 noon. Some of the group, after the walk, enjoy lunch in a local pub. Please let me know if you would like to stay for lunch as I need to book a table (Sylvia)

SUNDAY 12 August - The Walk will be at Irchester Country Park meeting at 10.30am in front of the cafe for a circular walk of 2 miles ending back at the cafe. There are beautiful woodland trails with gravel paths, The Narrow Gauge Ironstone Railway Museum and the spectacular quarry and Jurassic geology.

There are two car parks and ticket parking machines - one at the entrance and another one near the cafe. The parking charge is £3 and the ticket machine doesn't give change. Take care to display your car parking ticket on the car interior dashboard so that it can be clearly seen by the parking attendants otherwise you may get a parking ticket.

For those members who like to lunch after the walk it will be at The Dog and Duck pub in Wellingborough which is near to the embankment and the Lidl store. There is free car parking at the back of the pub, and I am lucky enough to have sufficient 40% discount vouchers for the main meal so a good saving. As I will need to firm up the numbers for the lunch booking, could you please telephone or text me if you would like to have lunch. If you would like a car lift from Higham or Rushden, please contact me so that arrangements can be made. New members and friends are very welcome to meet with us.

We are a friendly social group who enjoy walking at a pace where we can stop to look at the scenery which means that we are not ramblers walking at a fast pace, so if you are a slow walker, we will wait for you so that you enjoy the group and the walk.
