The Walks are Suitable for Members who want to walk at a slightly slower pace to enjoy the scenery. Mostly the walks are about 2.0-2.5 miles starting at 10.30am and finishing about 12 noon. Some of the group, after the walk, enjoy lunch in a local pub. Please let me know if you would like to stay for lunch as I need to book a table (Sylvia)

WICKSTEED PARK & ARBORETUM NN15 6NJ - SUNDAY 11 APRIL, - Have a look at the Archive page to see some of the photos taken during our walk at Wicksteed Park. It was a showery day but we enjoyed the 2.5 mile walk around the park with the latest attraction of the Alpacas and were lucky enough to the the female swan (pen) who had built her nest on the lake during the week with the male (cob) on patrol. Afterwards we enjoyed lunch at the Olde Victoria Pub in Burton Latimer

SYWELL PARK - Sunday 13 May we walked at Sywell Country Park and Arboretum, It was a circular walk of 2.5 miles around the reservoir. The sun shone, and there wasn't any wind and so sit was perfect weather for walking. The colour of the trees at Sywell in the Spring and Autumn are quite spectacular and it was a very peaceful walk around the reservoir as we took in the scenery with drifts of bluebells and birdlife. After the walk some of us had a healthy appetite and we went to Overstone Manor, Sywell for a lunch.

EMBERTON, OLNEY COUNTRY PARK - Sunday 10th June - We will meet at 10.30am in Olney market square car park, there is no charge for parking on a Sunday, and we will walk along the road to enter the park near the bridge over the river Ouse. For those members who prefer to leave their car in the park, the entrance is through the main gate and parking is £4.00, then walk along the road or edge of the park to join us by the bridge for the start of the walk. This is a circular walk of 2.5 miles from the market square car park, and return, but shorter if car parking near the entrance to the park. There are no hills or stiles and the paths are made up. For members who like to lunch after the walk it will be at The Green Man pub, Lavendon, Olney MK46 4HA which is short drive from Olney (on the way back to Rushden) Please let me know if you would like to lunch so that I can book a table in advance. H & R u3a members are welcome to sample the walk before they decide whether to become a member of the Country Park Walks.
